Admission Information

To make your fair experience more enjoyable:

  • Pets are not permitted on the Fairgrounds, with the exception of Service Animals.

  • No coolers or alcoholic beverages permitted through the gates, beer and wine can be purchased and consumed inside the Fairgrounds. Sealed bottles of water are allowed. All reusable cups must be empty on entrance.

  • Wear comfortable shoes … the Fairground is large and requires some walking between attractions, concessions, displays, rides, etc. There is a shuttle that runs inside the Fairgrounds, simply flag it down and hop aboard.

  • Personal golf carts are not permitted, although motorized wheel chairs are okay … keep in mind that some of the gravel paths can be hard to navigate with these devices.

  • Credit cards will be accepted at each admission booth to pay admission charges and ATMs are available inside the Fairgrounds.

  • Sorry, but checks are not accepted at the admission booths.

CLEAR BAG POLICY (EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 2026):

To help ensure the safety and security of all guests, staff, and exhibitors, the Isle of Wight County Fair has implemented a Clear Bag Policy for entry into the fairgrounds. This policy helps speed up entry and allows security staff to more easily screen bags.

Approved Bags

Guests may bring only the following types of bags into the fairgrounds:

  • Clear plastic, vinyl, or PVC tote bags (Maximum size: 12" x 6" x 12")

  • One-gallon clear plastic storage bags (Resealable – Ziploc-style)

  • Small clutch bags (Maximum size: 5" x 2" x 7" – may have a strap or handle

Prohibited Bags

The following items are not permitted inside the fairgrounds:

  • Purses larger than the approved clutch size

  • Backpacks

  • Drawstring or cinch bags

  • Fanny packs (larger than the approved clutch size)

  • Briefcases

  • Coolers or containers (including cans or cups – All reuseable cups must be empty upon entry)

  • Luggage of any kind

  • Computer bags

  • Camera bags

  • Any bag larger than the permitted size

Special Exceptions

The following items are permitted but may be subject to inspection:

  • Diaper bags

  • Strollers/Wagons

  • Lawn chairs

  • Medical bags

  • Bags required for medical equipment or accessibility needs

Additional Screening

All bags are subject to search by security personnel upon entry to the fairgrounds. Guests without approved bags may be asked to return items to their vehicles.

Saturday, September 12, 2026 – Seafood Fest (3 p.m.- 8 p.m.)

  • Tickets are $40 (ages 13+) and $20 (ages 6-12) per person online or TowneBank (Smithfield & Windsor) in advance (August 1 - September 8)or $45 (ages 13+) and $25 (ages 6-11) per person at the gate.  There will be a limited number of tickets available at the gate.  No other events will be taking place. 

Thursday September 17, 2026 – Carload Night:  Best Bargain of the Fair!  (5 p.m.-10 p.m.)

  • Bring your entire family or friends in one car, van or truck and pay $55 online or $60 at the gate to enter the Fair and enjoy “all you can ride” wristbands for everyone in the vehicle.

  • Limit 8 people per vehicle.

  • Passengers must be legally seated in vehicle. (No passengers in truck beds please).

  • Single entry admission only tickets are available for $10 online or $15 at the gate each for guests age 6 and older (does not include rides).

  • NOTE: Individual ride tickets will NOT be available for purchase on Carload Night.

Friday September 18, 2026 (10 a.m.-10 p.m.)
Saturday September 19, 2026 (10 a.m.-11 p.m.)
Sunday September 20, 2026 (11 a.m.-6 p.m.)

  • Ages 6 to 12 years $8 (online) $10 at the gate

  • Ages 13 and above $10 (online) $15 at the gate

  • Children 5 and under enter for FREE

  • 2 Day pass $18 (online only)

  • 3 Day pass $26 (online only)

*Friday Special* September 18, 2026

(10:00 am – 2:00pm Only): Senior Citizens (55 and up) and Elementary School Children pay $1 between 10am and 2pm and enjoy the Fair for as long as you care to stay.

Sunflower Hours (12:00 pm - 4:00 pm Only): Guests with disabilities + 1 caretaker/companion pay $1 each between 12:00 pm and 4:00 pm and enjoy the Fair for as long as you care to stay.

All other patrons must pay regular fair admission. Gates close at 11pm.

*Sunday Special* September 20, 2026 - Military Appreciation Day

  • Guests with valid military ID – up to $5 off regular admission on Sunday, September 20, 2026 only.
