2026 Isle of Wight County Fair Heritage Arts & Crafts Competition
Exhibits will be received at the Heritage Tent, inside Fairgrounds by Gate 2 on the following dates only:
Saturday, September 12 9 a.m. - 12 p.m.
Tuesday, September 15 4 p.m. - 7 p.m.
Wednesday, September 16 8 a.m. - 11 a.m.
Exhibits will be released to Entrant no sooner than 6 p.m. on Sunday, September 20 at the Heritage Tent. Earlier release is not permitted unless weather or other circumstances have altered the hours of the Fair. Entrants must pay Fair entry if arriving prior to close of Fair.
Items not picked up by 7 p.m. on Sunday will be transferred to the IOW County Parks and Recreation office at 13036 Nike Park Rd., Carrollton, VA 23314 and will be made available for pickup Wednesday, September 23. Contact Parks and Recreation at 757-357-2291 for coordination.
No entry fees will be charged for your item, but all exhibitors must pay to enter the Fair.
Each craft exhibitor is limited to three (3) entries per Class. Entries must be created by entrant within the last three (3) years. Entry will not be accepted if it has been entered in a previous IOW County Fair year.
All prints and painting items must be protected from the elements; in frames, on canvas, etc. (Due to unpredictable and uncontrollable conditions in the tent, any loose paper art tends to warp, twist, or fade. Please protect your masterpiece.)
Clothing is recommended to be displayed hung; therefore, a hanger must be provided during registration. If item is to not be hung, please specify during registration.
Exhibitors will receive entry tag stub at the time of entry drop off.
All entries will be displayed and judged per the Registration Form as filled out by the Registrant.
The Heritage Committee will set up all exhibits. No exhibitor will be allowed to set up, handle, or rearrange their entry. Notes may be left for Committee on preferred orientation of items for display.
The judge's decision is FINAL.
Ribbons (Point Scale): 95-100: Blue Ribbon 89-94: Red Ribbon 80-88: White Ribbon 79 & Below: Green Ribbon
Best in Division, Chairman's Choice, Crowd Favorite, and Most Original rosettes may also be awarded.
1 entry in a class does not necessitate a 1st place award.
Entries may be disqualified/not judged/not displayed if:
there are any self-identifying characteristics displayed on the front of exhibit
any of the above rules are not adhered to
Please note: The Heritage Arts, Crafts, and Food Tent is drafty and damp. Artwork is subject to fade, color change, and warping. The Fair assumes no responsibility in case of loss, theft, damage due to environmental reasons. The Fair will take every possible precaution to protect exhibits. Fair volunteers will be monitoring the Heritage Tent and its entries during fair operating hours. Entrants may purchase insurance on their items at their own discretion.
