Open & Youth EGG SHOW

1. Entry fee is $2.00 per entry and fees must accompany the entry form. Make all checks payable to Isle of Wight County. Please send payment with entry form. Deadline for entry form is Friday, August 28 2026.

2. If you enter 10 submissions, you will receive 1 fair entrance pass per exhibitor for FREE.

3. Staff reserves the right to return any and all entries received after capacity has been reached.

4. Drop offs begin Thursday, September 17 at 10 a.m. All entries must be in place by Thursday night by 4 p.m. All vehicles must be off the fairgrounds by 4 p.m. Eggs will not be allowed to enter after 4 p.m. and no refunds will be issued.

5. Judging begins PROMPTLY at 10 a.m. on Friday, September 18.

6. All classes with the exception of decorated eggs will be divided by color and size. Each breed entry will need a minimum of three (3) eggs to qualify for judging.

7. All eggs will be judged on External Characteristics based on the APA proposed Egg Competition Standard, as well as internal yolk and albumin color and quality. FRESH eggs only, please!

8. Decorated Egg Class is limited to one egg per exhibitor and must be blown or hard-boiled. The egg can be painted, ornaments such as beads, colored paper, shells, plant material, etc. Whatever the design chosen, the outline on the egg must be maintained, its shape always being recognizable and MUST have been created by the exhibitor.

9. Awards will be given for first, second and third places in each class. Grand and Reserve Champion Rosettes will be given in Open & Youth.

10. The Isle of Wight County Fair will take every precaution to guard against the loss, theft, and/or accident but WILL NOT BE RESPONSIBLE should these occur.

11. All eggs must be picked up Sunday, September 20 between 6 p.m. - 6:30 p.m. Any eggs left will be discarded.

12. Failure to adhere to these rules may jeopardize your ability to participate in future fairs.
